^Lot 373a Third Reich Luftwaffe Officer's Dagger.

2nd Pattern Luftwaffe Officers Dagger. The pommel is the style with pebbled backgrounds and good oak leaves that surround the swastikas. The two swastikas retain most of the original gilding. The matching generic cross guard eagle retains good detailing. Eagle is the style with a slight cantilever over top of the wings, which imparts a high quality look. The reverse panel has the large style pebbling and the ferrule matches nicely. The grip is of white celluloid. This celluloid remains in good condition and has a pleasing tone, tightly wrapped with springy aluminum wire. The scabbard has a dark gray finish in excellent condition, bands match the scabbard Blade of the dagger is excellent/bright, It is maker marked to WKC with the knight’s head logo. Leather washer in place. It has it’s original portepee in excellent condition. A very nice example.
